You will be driven through the longest valley of Tahiti just next to the river which bears the same name: Papeno’o.
The valley will reveal secrets about its former inhabitants who were able to tame this hostile environment and to build terraces and dams.
The road you will follow is the only one which goes across the island to the district of Mataiea in the South.
Once you reach the Lake Vaihiria you will be standing in the middle of Tahiti, it is a unique lake in the center of Tahiti’s crater. There you will be told the legendary King Fa’arava’i’s story which gave birth to the coconut tree.

Tahiti is the mountainous island par excellence, some call it “Majestic”.
Tikehau is quite different. It is an atoll of the Tuamotu archipelago with pink sand beaches.
Wherever you are in Tikehau, we recommend you to rent a bicycle to visit the village.The island tour does not take more than one hour, but if you want to relax on the sandy beaches, it is well worth hiring one for 4 hours.
The landscapes will simply take your breath away. It is never the same from one place to another. You will come across the island’s inhabitants working on the coconut plantation preparing copra, or looking for shells in order to make beautiful shell lei – to be worn like necklaces.
There is no better opportunity to mingle with the population and to get a taste of this stress-free lifestyle.
